Bees wax reinforced for durability and coated.
If you dont watch the video or you cant understand my accent, here’s the idea:
I prepared the bees wax, modeled with my hands, and finish the sculpting with hot air. I liked the idea that air can sculpt (as we see in nature too)
The plinth is a piece of alabaster. I made a small indent with a power tool in it, to contrast with air sculpting in one material and carving in another.
Portraits (sculped, painted or drawn) are my most favorite subject, the most intimate I get to my creations. It took me 11 years to decide to part with this one (made in 2014)
Medardo Rosso is one of my favorite sculptors and a great Artist. Maybe less known to the general public because he mainly sculpted heads, in wax… Google him and fall in love, as I did, with his work.
The price includes boxing (wood box that I purchase myself) and regular posting with track and trace.

Silly soundtrack but Im not changing it now. However, my reference to the left foot comes from the amazing story of an exceptional Dubliner, author and painter Christy Brown. If you did not watch the movie My Left Foot (Daniel Day-Lewis in the role of Christy), do yourself a favor and watch it. Strong story, brilliant interpretation (Oscar winner, in the days when Oscars were awarded for talent, not muscle)
