the title is Mental Metabolism and not just to use a fancy way of pushing modern thinking.
It's been known, observed for a long time that what we see and understand as being the exterior world is only a part of the reality. A sufficient one for us to function in restricted life situations. The brain has accepted that.
Then comes the musician (Boulez for instance), comes the poet, the artist and says "wait, my mind rebels against the full submission to functional representation of reality!"
The mind is allowed to open, digest and represent in forms that are accepted in the abstract world of the arts. That is called Metabolism.
Images I see, ideas that I connect, experiences that are mine, I give them the freedom to vortex in my identity and somehow result in the physical form of a painting. My advice: dont spend time trying to understand the story on my canvas, the story that started in the world was metabolized by my mind.
